Hidden Sections of This Site

Did you know this blog has hidden sections? They’re category pages that don’t have any articles in their categories.

If you click the “Menu” on mobile or just look at the topics in the upper portion of the bulmash.com homepage on desktop, you’ll see “Blog,” “Books,” “Business of Art”… Those are post categories. This past couple of weeks, I’ve been buying some domain names for my projects, but then just pointing the domains to those empty category pages.

For example, I plan to start a podcast next year. There’s a “Podcasts” category that has nothing in it, so nothing shows in the menu. But it has a page: the Bulmash.com “Podcasts” category page. That link is using my new link shortener (see my post on how to get your own white label link shortener). You can also reach it via gbpods.com. It’s just a simple temporary redirect. For example, bulmashmedia.com just points to the “About Bulmash Media, LLC” page linked in the footer.

I’ll be launching content in the first empty section in February. I almost said “we’ll,” as if I’m not working on this all alone in my home office. Someday, if the content I start publishing gains traction, maybe there’ll be enough money and need for a we.

Yup, just a short post. I’m trying to post more often. I’ll start posting daily (weekdays) in February when I launch that content project. See ya then!
